ABOUT MICHAEL GILL

Broadway Producer & Theatrical General Manager, Michael Gill
Michael Gill is a Tony Award nominee, Drama Desk Award nominee & Outer Critics Circle Award winning producer and general manager of Broadway shows, having worked on 16 productions on Broadway since 1979. In New York City he produced WHITE LIES; the musical revues MIGHTY FINE MUSIC! and LITTLE BY LITTLE, and won the Outer Critics Circle Award in 1989 for his very first producing effort, Maltby & Shire’s CLOSER THAN EVER. Michael also co-produced the musical version of THE WEDDING SINGER on Broadway for which he earned a Tony Award Nomination and a Drama Desk Award Nomination.
Michael’s theater management credits on Broadway include the revival of ANNIE GET YOUR GUN with Bernadette Peters, the revival of CHICAGO: THE MUSICAL, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA with Michael Crawford (including all three U.S. touring companies of PHANTOM), MISS SAIGON with Lea Salonga & Jonathan Price, BARNUM, LENA HORNE: THE LADY AND HER MUSIC, IS THERE LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL?, THE WAKE OF JAMEY FOSTER, DOONESBURY, the original production of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, ALL MY SONS with Richard Kiley, ROZA with Georgia Brown, ZORBA with Anthony Quinn, the revival of STOP THE WORLD, I WANT TO GET OFF with Anthony Newley, and MACBETH starring Christopher Plummer and Glenda Jackson.
Michael holds a B.S. degree from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University with a major in television & radio production, with graduate work from UCLA in Communications Law. He is a member of the League of Off-Broadway Theatre Producers, the Association of Theatrical Press Agents and Managers (ATPAM), Actors Equity Association and the American Federation of Musicians. While in college Michael spent his summers working for Valley Forge Music Fair as an A.E.A. Stage Manager, working on Summer Stock productions of WONDERFUL TOWN with Lauren Bacall, THE MERRY WIDOW with Roberta Peters, and the first post-Broadway tour of THE WIZ.
Michael’s production company, GILL ENTERTAINMENT GROUP, moved its offices to Las Vegas in 1999 and specializes in producing brand name entertainment in the Las Vegas market. GEG’s show roster includes the Las Vegas productions of JERSEY BOYS at the Paris Hotel, PHANTOM: THE LAS VEGAS SPECTACULAR at the Venetian Hotel; PEEPSHOW with Holly Madison at the Planet Hollywood Hotel; MAMMA MIA! at the Mandalay Bay Hotel; HAIRSPRAY at the Luxor Hotel; HUGH JACKMAN: IN TIME which opened the Wynn Hotel; WE WILL ROCK YOU at the Paris Hotel; STORM at the Mandalay Bay Hotel; CHICAGO at the Mandalay Bay Hotel; MEN ARE FROM MARS - WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS, the Musical at the Flamingo Hotel; TEASE at the Blue Note Jazz Club; TONY 'n TINA's WEDDING at the Rio Hotel, and ALWAYS: PATSY CLINE at the Silverton Hotel. GEG co-produced the Las Vegas premiere of DAME EDNA, A DAME IN THE DESERT at the Luxor Hotel.
GEG’s corporate clients have included: Disney Theatricals, Stage Holdings Company, and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group.
Michael is frequently a visiting professor at University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in theater management.
